STAM1
STAM1 is involved in intracellular signal transduction mediated by cytokines and growth factors. Upon IL-2 and GM-CSF stimulation, it plays a role in signaling leading to DNA synthesis and c-myc induction. It may also play a role in endocytic trafficking and T-cell development.
- Subunit: Heterodimer composed of STAM1 and HGS/HRS; interacts directly with STAMBP/AMSH.
- Tissue Specificity: Ubiquitously expressed.
STAM2
STAM2 is also involved in intracellular signal transduction mediated by cytokines and growth factors. It likely acts via association with ubiquitinated cargo proteins on early endosomes, participating in sorting for lysosomal trafficking. Upon IL-2 and GM-CSF stimulation, it contributes to DNA synthesis and c-myc induction and may play a role in T-cell development.
- Subunit: Heterodimer or heterotrimer composed of STAM2 and HGS/Hrs; EPS15 can be part of the complex.
- Interactions: Interacts with STAMBP/AMSH, JAK2, JAK3, ubiquitinated proteins, USP8/UBPY, CBX5, and VPS37C.
- Tissue Specificity: Ubiquitously expressed.
