Target Information

ZBTB17 is a transcription factor that can act as an activator or repressor depending on binding partners. It targets negative regulators of cell cycle progression and plays a critical role in early lymphocyte development by preventing apoptosis in lymphoid precursors, supporting survival in response to IL7 and proper lineage commitment. It binds to promoters of adenovirus major late protein and cyclin D1 to activate transcription and is required for early embryonic development during gastrulation.
