Target Information
STYK1 is a probable tyrosine protein kinase with strong transforming capabilities in various cell lines. Overexpression can induce tumor cell invasion and metastasis in distant organs. It may act by activating MAP kinase and PI3K pathways. STYK1 is widely expressed, with high expression in brain, placenta, and prostate. It is found in tumor cells such as hepatoma (LO2), cervix carcinoma (HeLa), ovary cancer (Ho8910), and chronic myelogenous leukemia (K562) cells, but not in certain other tumor types such as epidermoid carcinoma.
