Target Information

Expression of Somatostatin Receptor Type 3 (SSTR3) has been reported in brain, breast, eye, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and thyroid.
G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) are one of the largest families of signaling molecules, sharing a common structure of seven membrane-spanning helices.
They exist in active and inactive forms, with various ligands influencing their conformation and downstream signaling via G-proteins and effectors.
Negative regulation ("turn-off" activity) of GPCRs plays a critical role in cellular physiology and is a major focus in drug discovery.
Notably, GPCR-targeted drugs such as Zyprexa (Eli Lilly) and Claritin (Schering-Plough) have achieved significant clinical and commercial success.
