Target Information
PUF60 encodes a Ro RNP-binding protein that interacts with Ro RNPs, potentially conferring gain-of-function properties. It forms a ternary complex with the far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing c-myc reporter activity via FUSE. PUF60 also targets transcription factor IIH to inhibit activated transcription. This gene is associated with xeroderma pigmentosum disorder and has two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms, with evidence of multiple polyadenylation sites.
