Target Information
PUF60 encodes a Ro RNP-binding protein that interacts with Ro RNPs, potentially conferring a gain of function. It forms a ternary complex with far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing c-myc reporter activity via FUSE. PUF60 also targets transcription factor IIH, inhibiting activated transcription, and is implicated in xeroderma pigmentosum disorder. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encode different isoforms, with evidence of multiple polyadenylation sites.
