Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSP) are expressed in response to various biological stresses, including heat. HSP90 is a 90 kDa protein induced under stress conditions and is among the most abundant cellular proteins under non-stress conditions. HSP90 associates with multiple intracellular proteins such as steroid receptors, actin, tubulin, and certain kinases. It is suggested that HSP90 helps maintain the structural integrity of steroid receptors, enabling ligand binding during receptor activation.
