Target Information
The E2F6 gene encodes a member of the E2F transcription factor family, which regulates the cell cycle and tumor suppressor protein activity. Unlike other E2F members, E2F6 lacks transactivation and tumor suppressor protein association domains, instead containing a modular suppression domain that inhibits E2F-dependent transcription. It is part of a multimeric complex with histone methyltransferase, Mga, and Max. Multiple transcript variants have been reported, though not all are confirmed as valid isoforms.
