Target Information
Tubulin family members are globular proteins essential for microtubule assembly. Microtubules play key roles in mitosis, cytokinesis, and vesicle transport.
TPPP (Tubulin polymerization-promoting protein), also known as p24/p25, is a 219 amino acid protein located in the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm.
TPPP may form dimers and promotes tubulin polymerization into double-walled tubules and stabilized aggregates.
Overexpression of TPPP can inhibit mitotic spindle formation and nuclear envelope breakdown.
TPPP is phosphorylated by TPK II and encoded on human chromosome 5.
It contributes to microtubule polymerization, bundling, and stabilization, maintaining microtubule network integrity.
