Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-κB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and is located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-κB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits. Upon TNF-α receptor activation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and subsequent activation of NF-κB. NF-κB p65 plays a crucial role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
