GAB2 유전자는 GRB2-associated binding protein (GAB) 패밀리에 속하며, pleckstrin homology (PH) 도메인을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 SHP2 tyrosine phosphatase 및 GRB2 adapter protein과 결합하여 다양한 자극에 대한 신호를 전달하는 어댑터 역할을 합니다. 또한 고친화성 IgE 수용체 활성화에 따른 phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase의 주요 활성화 인자로 작용합니다.
두 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되어 있으며, 서로 다른 isoform을 인코딩합니다.
