Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Oncostatin M. Anti-Human Oncostatin M-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hOncostatin M by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Oncostatin M (500-P30) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hOncostatin M.

Western Blot:
To detect hOncostatin M by Western blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hOncostatin M is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Oncostatin M (OSM) is a growth and differentiation factor involved in regulating neurogenesis, osteogenesis, and hematopoiesis. Produced by activated T cells, monocytes, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, OSM can exert both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation. It stimulates fibroblast, smooth muscle, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cell proliferation while inhibiting some normal and tumor cell lines. OSM also promotes cytokine release (e.g., IL-6, GM-CSF, G-CSF) from endothelial cells and enhances LDL receptor expression in hepatoma cells. It shares structural and functional similarities with LIF, IL-6, and CNTF.
