Target Information
YTHDF1 specifically recognizes and binds N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-containing mRNAs, promoting mRNA translation efficiency (PubMed:24284625, 26046440, 26318451).
m6A modification affects mRNA splicing, processing, and stability. YTHDF1 enhances ribosome loading on m6A-containing mRNAs and interacts with translation initiation factors eIF3 (EIF3A or EIF3B).
It contributes to learning and memory formation in the hippocampus by promoting translation of neuronal mRNAs upon stimulation.
Additionally, it regulates axon guidance via ROBO3 transcripts and negatively regulates antigen cross-presentation in myeloid dendritic cells, influencing tumor immune response.
