Target Information
Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 4 (Kv1.4, also known as PCN2) is encoded by the KCNA4 gene in humans. This gene encodes a member of the voltage-gated potassium channel, shaker-related subfamily, located on chromosome 11p14.1.
KCNA4 contributes to the A-type potassium current, which regulates the fast repolarizing phase of cardiac action potentials and influences cardiac action potential duration. It also contributes to the cardiac transient outward potassium current (Ito1), a key current in the repolarizing phase 1 of the cardiac action potential.
KCNA4 has been shown to interact with DLG4, KCNA2, and DLG1.
