Product Specific Information

Target Information
The XPC gene encodes a component of the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway. This pathway includes multiple components such as Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) A–G and V, Cockayne syndrome (CS) A and B, and trichothiodystrophy (TTD) group A.
XPC is crucial in the early steps of global genome NER, particularly in damage recognition, open complex formation, and repair protein complex formation.
Mutations in XPC or other NER components can result in Xeroderma pigmentosum, a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased sensitivity to sunlight and early-onset carcinomas.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene.
