Target Information
FUZ is the human homolog of the Drosophila fy protein and belongs to the fuzzy family. The fy gene in Drosophila encodes a novel four-pass transmembrane protein that specifies the correct orientation of wing hairs and ensures the development of a single cell hair by maintaining F-actin and microtubule integrity. In humans, FUZ is involved in cytoskeleton organization and epithelial cell polarity. The human fuz gene is localized on chromosome 19q13.33.
