Target Information
FUSIP1 is a member of the serine-arginine (SR) family of proteins involved in constitutive and regulated RNA splicing. These proteins contain N-terminal RNP1 and RNP2 motifs for RNA binding and multiple C-terminal SR/RS repeats important for protein interactions. FUSIP1 influences splice site selection of adenovirus E1A pre-mRNA and interacts with the oncoprotein TLS, modulating its effect on splicing. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms, with additional variants utilizing alternative polyA sites.
