Target Information

YTHDF1 specifically recognizes and binds N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-containing mRNAs, promoting mRNA translation efficiency.
M6A is a modification found at internal sites of mRNAs and some non-coding RNAs, influencing splicing, processing, and stability.
YTHDF1 facilitates ribosome loading to m6A-containing mRNAs and interacts with translation initiation factors eIF3 (EIF3A or EIF3B) to enhance translation initiation.
It plays a role in learning and memory formation in the hippocampus by promoting translation of neuronal mRNAs upon stimulation.
Additionally, it regulates axon guidance via ROBO3 mRNA translation and acts as a negative regulator of antigen cross-presentation in myeloid dendritic cells by enhancing lysosomal degradation and phagosome maturation.
In tumorigenesis, this negative regulation limits anti-tumor responses by reducing tumor-antigen cross-presentation.
