Target Information
Mucin 13 (MUC13) is an epithelial transmembrane protein containing SEA extracellular domains associated with O-glycosylation. SEA-modules are found in various proteins such as agrin, enterokinase, perlecan, mucin 1, and others. These proteins are typically located in heavily glycosylated environments and often contain O-glycosidic-linked carbohydrates like heparan sulphate, contributing to their molecular mass. The SEA module may regulate or assist binding to neighboring carbohydrate moieties. Enterokinase, a mosaic protease initiating intestinal digestion, is composed of diverse domains.
