Product Specific Information

The 23C6 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD51/CD61 dimer, also known as integrin αv/β3. CD51 (~120 kDa) can associate with other β subunits (β1, β5, β6) forming receptors for extracellular matrix components. Heterodimers of CD51/CD61 are expressed by melanoma cells, endothelial cells, and osteoclasts, and at low levels by platelets.
The CD51/CD61 complex mediates adhesion to fibrinogen, fibronectin, vitronectin, and thrombospondin.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on human melanoma and peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (1 µg) per test.
A test is defined as the antibody amount that stains cells in 100 µL volume (typically 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD51 (αV) and CD61 (β3) integrins form a complex binding vitronectin at the RGD sequence. The complex also binds fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor, thrombospondin, fibronectin, osteopontin, and collagen. Reacts with osteoclasts, placenta, melanoma cell lines, and weakly with platelets.
