The WM15 antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of human CD13 cell surface glycoprotein, a 150 kDa molecule expressed on granulocytes, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and myeloid progenitors.
Target Information
CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types. It acts as a metalloprotease that removes neutral amino acids from small peptides, modulating bioactive peptide activity. CD13 is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, inflammatory responses, and regulation of cell motility and vascularization. It is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells, and its expression is associated with poor prognosis in carcinomas. CD13 also functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme and serves as the alpha receptor for coronavirus.
