Target Information

Heterogeneous nuclear RNAs (hnRNAs), including mRNA precursors and mature mRNAs, form complexes with specific proteins known as heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs).
HNRNPL is one of the proteins stably associated with hnRNP complexes and plays a key role in mRNA formation, packaging, processing, and function.
It is mainly localized in the nucleoplasm but can also be found outside the nucleus.
hnRNP proteins shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm, suggesting possible cytoplasmic functions.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms of HNRNPL have been identified.
