Product Specific Information
The IM7 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of mouse CD44 (Pgp-1). CD44 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, with high expression in bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells. Peripheral B and T cells can upregulate CD44 expression. CD44 functions as an adhesion molecule via binding to hyaluronate in the extracellular matrix.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize titration for best results.

Brilliant Violet™ 421 (BV421) emits at 423 nm; for use with violet (405 nm) laser-equipped cytometers.
Buffer Recommendation:
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies (e.g., Super Bright, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant Ultra Violet™), use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, brain white matter, and some epithelial cells. It serves as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and mediates cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. CD44 plays roles in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing, and may be upregulated in certain carcinomas, potentially linked to metastasis. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, contributing to its structural and functional diversity.
Associated Diseases: Superficial keratitis, lichen sclerosus, and possibly tumor metastasis formation.
