LC3B는 자가포식(autophagy) 과정에서 세포질 성분의 분해에 핵심적인 역할을 하며, 세포 내 효소 및 소기관의 분해를 조절합니다.
자가포식은 세포질 구성 요소를 이중막 구조의 자가포식소체(autophagosome)에 포획하여 리소좀과 융합 후 분해하는 과정입니다.
LC3B는 미세소관과 세포골격 구성 요소 간의 물리적 상호작용을 매개하며, 암, 노화, 대사 및 신경퇴행성 질환, 심혈관/폐 질환 등의 연구와 관련이 있습니다.
