Target Information
C20orf20 (also known as MRG/MORF4L-binding protein or Up-regulated in colon cancer 4, Urcc4) is a 204 amino acid nuclear protein belonging to the EAF7 family.
It is a component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex, involved in transcriptional activation of specific genes through acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A.
This modification can alter nucleosome–DNA interactions and facilitate recruitment of transcription-regulating proteins.
The NuA4 complex is implicated in transcriptional programs associated with oncogene and proto-oncogene-mediated growth induction, tumor suppressor-mediated growth arrest, replicative senescence, apoptosis, and DNA repair.
C20orf20 undergoes phosphorylation and acetylation, with an apparent molecular weight of approximately 25–30 kDa.
