Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands for the T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation.
CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells, EBV-transformed B cell lines, Burkitt’s lymphoma cell lines, freshly isolated follicular B lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes.
B-lymphocyte activation antigen B7-1 provides regulatory signals for T lymphocytes via binding to CD28 and CTLA4.
Diseases associated with CD80 dysfunction include gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
