For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve ~1 mg/mL antibody concentration.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

PAI-2 (SERPINB2) is an inhibitory serpin mainly expressed in keratinocytes, activated monocytes, and placental trophoblasts. It exists as a 47 kDa nonglycosylated intracellular protein and can be secreted as a 60 kDa glycoprotein. Both forms effectively inhibit urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA).
PAI-2 can form dormant polymers spontaneously and reversibly under physiological conditions, potentially regulating inhibitor release from producing cells. Plasma levels are low except during pregnancy or certain leukemias.
During the third trimester of pregnancy, placental secretion increases PAI-2 levels up to 250 ng/mL, which drop postpartum. PAI-2 plays a key role in protecting the placenta and preventing metastatic spread in neck, lung, and breast cancers by inhibiting uPA-dependent cell dissemination. It also inhibits keratinocyte proliferation and participates in innate immune responses during viral infection.
