Target Information
Microtubules are major cytoskeletal elements found in all eukaryotic cells, composed of tubulin dimers (alpha and beta subunits, ~55 kDa each). They play essential roles in:
- Chromosome segregation during mitosis
- Intracellular transport
- Ciliary and flagellar movement
- Structural support of the cytoskeleton
This antibody does not induce collapse of 10-nm filaments or block microtubule assembly. It does not inhibit polymerization or depolymerization of platelet tubulin in vitro but blocks 70–80% of the ability of tubulin dimers (with GppNHp bound) to promote stable inhibition of adenylyl cyclase.
