Description:
The 16B1 antibody reacts with human CD144 (VE-cadherin, cadherin-5). VE-cadherin is a 140 kDa calcium-dependent adhesion molecule localized at endothelial cell junctions in blood and lymphatic vessels. It plays a role in vascular permeability and remodeling.
Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC).
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Fluorescence Parameters:

Target Information
VE-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein from the cadherin superfamily, located on chromosome 16. It consists of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. VE-cadherin mediates homophilic adhesion and contributes to endothelial cell cohesion and junction organization. It is implicated in vascular biology and cancer-related loss of heterozygosity events.
