Description:
The BV13 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse VE-Cadherin (CD144), a 120 kDa type II cadherin family member. VE-Cadherin mediates homophilic adhesion between neighboring endothelial cells and is localized at adherens junctions. It is constitutively expressed throughout the vasculature and is essential for endothelial cell migration, survival, contact-dependent growth inhibition, and tubular structure formation. VE-Cadherin⁺CD45⁻ cells from the yolk sac or AGM may give rise to hematopoietic cells.

This eBioBV13 (BV13) antibody is suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of b.End3 cell line. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

VE-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein belonging to the cadherin superfamily, located on chromosome 16. It comprises five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It functions in endothelial cell cohesion and intercellular junction organization. An alternative splice variant has been described, though the full-length sequence is undetermined.
