This antibody detects CD1a in mouse and human samples in FACS, WB, and IHC (P) applications.
Target Information
CD1a is a non-polymorphic MHC Class I-related cell surface glycoprotein expressed in association with Beta-2 microglobulin. It is found on cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, dendritic cells, certain T-cell leukemias, and other tissues. CD1 proteins present lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells and are organized as five family genes (CD1a, b, c, d, e) on chromosome 1. CD1a localizes to the plasma membrane and early endocytic vesicles. Alternative splicing variants exist but their biological roles remain uncertain.
