Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10–20 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. After retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Suggested positive control tissues: liver, adrenal gland, or pancreas.

Target Information

N-cadherin is a 140 kDa transmembrane protein that mediates calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion. It plays a key role in morphogenetic movements during development and regulates cell surface adhesion through homotypic interactions with other N-cadherin molecules.
Its function depends on association with the actin cytoskeleton via interactions between the C-terminal region and cytoplasmic catenin proteins, regulated by phosphorylation of beta-catenin.
N-cadherin contains five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It functions during gastrulation and is essential for establishing left-right asymmetry.
