This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CDC25A.
Target Information
CDC25A is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases. Three CDC25 genes (CDC25A, CDC25B, and CDC25C) exist in human cells and function at different phases of the cell cycle.
CDC25A is required for progression through G1 and S phases, activating the cyclin-dependent kinase CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups.
CDC25A is degraded in response to DNA damage, preventing cells with chromosomal abnormalities from dividing further.
Although CDC25A is considered an oncogene, its precise role in oncogenesis remains to be fully elucidated.
