Target Information
The ATR protein is a serine/threonine kinase and DNA damage sensor that activates cell cycle checkpoint signaling upon DNA stress. It phosphorylates and activates proteins involved in DNA replication inhibition, mitotic regulation, and DNA repair. ATR plays a critical role in fragile site stability and centrosome duplication. Mutations in this gene are associated with Seckel syndrome 1.
