Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 serves as a functional regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias. It acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and can also signal independently, playing a central regulatory role in B cell activation. Mutation of the CD19 gene leads to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
