Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signaling in response to various growth factors. Overexpression of EGFR is associated with numerous cancers and serves as a target for biological and small molecule therapeutics.
EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene located on chromosome 7 and belongs to the HER/ERbB family, which includes ERbB2, ERbB3, and ERbB4.
Binding of ligands such as EGF and TGFα induces receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating downstream signaling pathways.
Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
