Target Information
The ADAM29 gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. These membrane-anchored proteins are structurally related to snake venom disintegrins and are involved in various biological processes, including cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. ADAM29 is highly expressed in the testis and may play a role in human spermatogenesis. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
