Recombinant Human FGFR2a (IIIc) is a 65.6 kDa protein containing 589 amino acids. Under reducing conditions, FGFR2a migrates between 100–110 kDa on SDS-PAGE gel.

Target Information
The FGF family plays a central role in prenatal development, postnatal growth, and tissue regeneration by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation.
FGF ligands bind to type I transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptors, leading to dimerization and activation through autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues.
Four genes encode related FGF receptors (FGFR1–4). Alternative splicing of mRNAs generates multiple forms of FGFR1–3, which differ in ligand-binding specificity.
For instance, FGFR1a (IIc) interacts mainly with FGF1 and FGF2. Splicing events produce alpha isoforms (three Ig domains) and beta isoforms (two Ig domains). Only alpha isoforms exist for FGFR3 and FGFR4.
Additional splicing of FGFR1–3 generates receptors with alternative IgIII domains (IIIb and IIIc).
