Target Information
Interleukin 12A (IL-12A) is a signaling cytokine belonging to the Interleukin-6 superfamily. It encodes the 35-kDa alpha subunit of the IL-12 heterodimer, which plays a key role in immune regulation. IL-12A acts as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhances NK/LAK cell lytic activity, and stimulates IFN-gamma production. It contributes to the differentiation of Th1 and Th2 cells and regulates tyrosine phosphorylation of Stat4. IL-12A, together with EBI3, forms IL-35, a regulatory cytokine produced by Treg cells essential for suppressive immune activity.
