This Ab204 monoclonal antibody detects human DDX5 protein, also known as DEAD box protein 5 and RNA helicase p68. It cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologs.

Applications Reported:

• Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis
• Immunocytochemical staining

Applications Tested:

• Flow Cytometry: Tested using stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells with Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product # 00-5523-00)
  • Use at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume)
• Immunocytochemistry: Tested on cultured A549 cells using PFA fixation
  • Use at 2.5 µL (0.025 µg) per ml

Target Information

DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases involved in RNA secondary structure modulation. These proteins participate in translation initiation, splicing, and ribosome assembly. Some family members are associated with embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular proliferation. The DDX5 gene encodes an RNA-dependent ATPase and a proliferation-associated nuclear antigen reactive with simian virus 40 tumor antigen. It consists of 13 exons, and alternative splicing has been observed.
