Target Information
CREB (Cyclic AMP response element binding protein)은 43 kDa의 basic/leucine zipper 전사 인자로, cyclic AMP response element (CRE)에 결합하여 다양한 세포외 신호(신경전달물질, 호르몬, 성장 및 신경영양 인자 등)에 반응해 전사를 활성화합니다.
CREB의 활성화는 serine 133의 인산화에 의존하며, p44/42 MAP kinase, p90RSK, p38 MAP kinase 및 MSK1에 의해 인산화가 일어납니다. 인산화되지 않은 CREB도 DNA 결합은 가능하지만, 전사인자로서의 활성은 인산화된 형태에서만 나타납니다.
CREB binding protein(CBP)은 전사 공동활성화 인자로서 serine 133 부위에서 CREB와 직접 결합합니다. CREB는 생체 리듬 조절, 지방세포 분화, 학습 및 기억 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
인간에서는 CREB 유전자가 염색체 2번의 q arm에 위치하며, CREB 기능 이상은 알츠하이머병, 조직구종, 연조직 흑색종 등과 관련이 있습니다.
