Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody IgE21 recognizes the immunoglobulin E (IgE) class of antibodies. IgE levels in serum are low, constituting a small portion of total immunoglobulin. IgE mediates allergic responses by binding to mast cells and basophils via Fc epsilon receptor I, triggering histamine release. It is produced by terminally differentiated plasma B cells and basophils and exists in both soluble and membrane-bound forms, both recognized by IgE21.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

IgE is one of five immunoglobulin classes in mammals. It consists of two epsilon heavy chains and two light chains. IgE mediates type I hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., hay fever, asthma, hives, anaphylaxis) by binding to Fc receptors on basophils and mast cells. Crosslinking of Fc-bound IgE induces degranulation, promoting allergic manifestations. IgE also contributes to immunity against parasites.
