Fatty acid binding proteins (FABP)는 약 13–14 kDa의 소형 세포질 단백질로, 조직 특이성이 높습니다. FABP는 긴 사슬 지방산을 결합하며, 다양한 세포 유형에서 풍부하게 존재합니다.
FABP는 세포 손상 시 빠르게 혈청으로 유출되어 간세포 손상의 민감한 지표로 활용됩니다. 특히 Liver FABP는 독성학적 분석이나 이식 후 간 손상 탐지에 유용한 바이오마커로 알려져 있습니다.
