This antibody recognizes native human CEACAM1 protein expressed in transfected mammalian cells.
Target Information
CEACAM1 is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) gene family within the immunoglobulin superfamily. The CEA family includes cell adhesion molecules and pregnancy-specific glycoproteins located in a 1.2 Mb cluster on chromosome 19. CEACAM1 was initially identified in liver bile ducts and later found on leukocytes, epithelial, and endothelial cells. It mediates cell adhesion through homophilic and heterophilic interactions and plays roles in tissue organization, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune response modulation. Multiple transcript variants exist, with two full-length isoforms characterized.
