Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes native human CEACAM1, 5, 6, and 8 proteins expressed in transfected mammalian cells.
Target Information
CD66 molecules are 180–200 kDa glycoproteins of the carcinoembryonic antigen family. They are expressed on all blood granulocytes and some tissue macrophages, but absent from other hematopoietic cells. Expression of CD66 increases significantly on granulocytes upon activation.
CD66a (BGP1, CEACAM1) and CD66d (CGM1, CEACAM3), as well as CEACAM2 and CEACAM4, are transmembrane proteins. CD66c (CEAL, NCA, CEACAM6) and CD66e (CEA, CEACAM5), along with CEACAM7 and CEACAM8, are anchored to the plasma membrane via a C-terminal glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) lipid moiety.
