Target Information
Leucine-rich glioma inactivated gene 4 (LGI4)는 LGI1을 대표로 하는 LGI family의 구성원입니다. 이 family는 leucine-rich repeats (LRRs)를 포함하는 네 가지 상동 단백질로 이루어져 있으며, 세포막 신호 전달 분자 및 수용체와 유사한 구조를 가집니다.
LGI1은 glioma의 종양 억제 유전자로 알려져 있으며, 청각 증상이 주요한 자가우성 측두엽 간질(ADTLE)과 관련되어 있습니다. LGI4는 LGI1과 높은 상동성을 가지지만, ADTLE과의 연관성은 보고되지 않았습니다. 그러나 LGI4 유전자는 양성 가족성 유아 경련과 관련된 영역에 위치하며, 일부 연구에서 특정 유전적 다형성이 소아 결손 간질과 상관관계가 있음이 밝혀졌습니다. 또한 세포 배양에서 LGI4 발현 감소는 수초화 억제를 유발하여 LGI4가 신경 발달에 중요한 역할을 할 가능성을 시사합니다.
