Target Information
8-hydroxyguanine은 자유 라디칼에 의해 유도되는 산화적 DNA 손상 형태로, G:C → T:A 전환을 유발합니다. E. coli에서는 이러한 손상의 돌연변이 효과를 방지하기 위해 MutM을 포함한 세 가지 DNA 복구 효소가 존재합니다. 인간 OGG1 단백질은 효모 및 박테리아 효소와 유사하게 DNA에서 8-hydroxyguanine을 제거하고 AP site를 절단합니다.
hOgg1 유전자는 3p26.2 영역에 위치하며, 이는 다양한 암에서 이형접합성 소실(LOH)이 관찰되는 영역입니다. 특히 3p25–p26은 폐암에서 흔한 LOH 영역으로 보고됩니다.
