Target Information

COLQ (collagen-like tail subunit of asymmetric acetylcholinesterase) is a 455 amino acid protein localized at the skeletal muscle end plate. It anchors catalytic subunits of asymmetric AChE to the basal lamina at vertebrate neuromuscular junctions.
Mutations in COLQ cause congenital myasthenic syndromes, rare autosomal recessive diseases characterized by muscle weakness, ophthalmoplegia, and resistance to anticholinesterase drugs.
Eight isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
