Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The ubiquitin (Ub) pathway proceeds through three enzymatic steps that conjugate Ub or Ub-like molecules to target proteins:

  1. Activation (E1 enzyme): ATP-dependent activation of Ub C-terminus and assembly of multi-Ub chains.
  2. Conjugation (E2 enzyme): Formation of Ub–E2 intermediate complex.
  3. Ligation (E3 enzyme): Transfer of Ub from E2 to substrate proteins.

UBE2E3 (also known as UBCH9) is an E2 conjugating enzyme that catalyzes covalent attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins. It plays roles in regulating transepithelial sodium transport in renal cells and may be involved in cell growth arrest.
UBE2E3 shuttles between cytoplasm and nucleus in an IPO11-dependent manner, is ubiquitously expressed at low levels, and is highly expressed in skeletal muscle.
