Product Specific Information
- Detects endogenous TACC3 protein at approximately 90 kDa.
- Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
TACC1 is located on the 8p11 chromosomal region, amplified in approximately 15% of breast tumor samples. The short arm of chromosome 8 also contains FGFR1, whose expression is enhanced in most breast cancer tumors.
TACC family members (TACC1, TACC2, TACC3) map closely to FGFR genes (FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3) on chromosomes 4, 8, and 10, respectively.
Since they are phylogenetically related, TACC and FGFR are proposed to have similar roles in cell growth and differentiation.
TACC1 contains a conserved C-terminal region similar to the Drosophila homolog D-TACC, which is necessary for normal spindle function. Mammalian TACC proteins appear to interact with centrosomes and microtubules in a similar manner.
